Ford Trucks

Seemingly part of the very fabric of the American landscape, Ford trucks of every year, type, color and condition can be found on virtually every stretch of road in the country, and rightly so, when you consider the vast lineup of trucks Ford has to offer. Ford has a rich history of making trucks built to be worked hard and come back looking for more, and they serve up an impressive array of trucks to meet virtually any budget and need.

Ford F150 Ford F-150 The cornerstone of Ford's truck line, the F-150 has the distinction of being the best-selling pickup for 27 consecutive years. The new 2005 model features a powerful 4.2L V6 engine along with an available 4.6L Triton V8 and a brawny 5.4L Triton V8 with 300 horsepower. On top of the 30 awards that have been showered upon the new F-150, it has the best-in-class frame strength, towing capability and payload capacity.
Ford certainly takes pride in its trucks and the wide selection of options speaks volumes to that fact. You have your choice of cabs, ranging from regular to SuperCab and SuperCrew and, new for this year, the King Ranch SuperCab. And if that weren't enough, the F-150 comes with a choice of pickup boxes, including a 6.5 foot Flareside, all the way up to an eight-foot Styleslide box. Handsome looks, a seemingly endless list of options and the F-150's legendary track record make the latest incarnation of a classic yet another reminder of why Ford trucks are everywhere. More...

Ford F250/F350 Super Duty If owning a legend isn't quite enough truck, though, there is Ford's Super Duty line. Ford bills each of these monsters as "true beasts of burden". They come configured as the F-250 and F-350 models and have a choice of regular, super or crew cabs. What gives the Super Duty its truly "beastly" qualities, though, is the availability of engines. The 5.4L Triton V8 cranks out 300 horsepower and 365 lb-ft. torque.

Ford's 6.0L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel V8 adds some more grunt with 325 horsepower and 570 lb-ft. of torque. Still not enough power? Step up to the 6.8L Triton V10 and increase your horses and torque to 362 and 457 respectively. These engines, depending on the truck and transmission, offer a dizzying array of towing capabilities, able to lug up to 23,500 pounds. All models come standard with a six-speed manual overdrive transmission, with an available TorqShift five-speed automatic. The Ford Super Duty line is also the first to offer a fully integrated trailer brake control, which is hardwired into the dash and works directly with the anti-lock brake system. Drivers can easily read and adjust gain, output power and trailer connectivity from a simple interface. More...

Ford Ranger Ford Ranger Ford serves up plenty for people who work their trucks hard, but what about someone who just wants truck for getting around and doesn't need to tow a house? You're in luck, because the Ford Ranger certainly fits the bill admirably. Named for "Highest Ownership Loyalty" four straight years by R.L. Polk and Co., the Ranger comes standard with a 2.3L inline four and available 3.0L and 4.0L V6 engines, as well as six and seven-foot Styleline cargo boxes.
Ford Ranger offers regular-cab and extended SuperCab body styles. SuperCabs have two rear fold-down jump seats as standard or optional, depending on model. SuperCabs are available with back-hinged rear doors. Regular cabs use a 6- or 7-ft straightside cargo bed; SuperCabs get the 6-ft version. Ranger has rear-wheel drive or 4WD that must be disengaged on dry pavement but includes low-range gearing. Four-wheel ABS is standard. Leather upholstery is available. More...
